Last week was
Rakhi which is a Hindu festival celebrating the relationship between brothers and sisters. The sister (Justin's cousin - Malu) tied a string around his wrist and smeared red powder made of tumeric with a few grains of rice on his foreheard. This symbolizes the care she will provide for him and in return, he will protect her along with a gift offering (in this case, bags and bags of chocolates smuggled from the States.) I was delighted by the whole ritural but slightly disgusted by the red concoction on his head that looked like a big scab with puss coming out. All I could think of was, "Ha ha dothead!" I know, like you, I'm also quite compelled by my cultural awareness and acceptance.

Then last night Justin had this brilliant idea to shave his head and now looks like a fool - just like the painting his grandmother painted. Ok it was my idea but his baldness is quite disturbing and made me throw up in my mouth a little, so he is no longer my boyfriend - more like a travel companion.

hahah i like the bald head! i might be a little biased though :)
Haha first you complain that he's too hairy and now you're bitching that he's too bald! Is there some kind of middle ground you can reach?
